What Makes Our Toddler Program Special

Toddlers are constantly learning, exploring, and discovering new ways to interact with the world around them. At The Wonder Years Academy, our toddler program is designed to support children through these important developmental milestones with a balance of structured learning, hands-on exploration, and nurturing care.

As children progress through our toddler classrooms, they gain confidence, independence, and essential social, physical, and cognitive skills in environments designed specifically for their age and stage of development.

Our toddler program supports growth through:

  • Interactive music experiences through our Sing-A-Song Program
  • Gross motor development with Amazing Athletes
  • Field trips that extend learning beyond the classroom
  • Individual and group skill-building activities
  • Flexible scheduling options to fit your family's needs
  • Language and communication development through stories, conversation, and interactive learning
  • Cooperative play that encourages sharing, teamwork, and social growth
  • Fine motor skill development through hands-on activities and creative projects
  • Problem-solving and sensory exploration activities
  • Opportunities to build independence and self-help skills

Our multisensory approach ensures every child receives well-rounded care that nurtures their development while fostering a love of learning. Through engaging experiences, supportive teachers, and meaningful parent communication, we help toddlers build a strong foundation for future growth and success.

Age-Appropriate Learning for Every Toddler Stage

Toddlers 1 (15 Months-2 Years) focuses on helping children navigate their first major milestone of independence. As toddlers become mobile and eager to explore, they learn through play, discovery, and age-appropriate activities that support hand-eye coordination, motor development, communication, and problem-solving skills. Our self-contained classrooms provide a safe, engaging environment designed specifically for active learners.

Toddlers 2 (2-2.5 Years) builds on these foundational skills with a holistic approach to early childhood education. Children participate in activities that strengthen cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development while encouraging curiosity and creativity. Through cooperative play, vocabulary-building exercises, story time, sensory experiences, and outdoor activities, toddlers develop the confidence and skills needed for continued success. Predictable routines and self-help opportunities further promote independence and a sense of security.

Age-Appropriate Learning Every Step of the Way

Pre-School 1 (Ages 2.5-3) introduces children to a more structured educational experience. Daily circle time helps reinforce letters, numbers, colors, and shapes, while small-group instruction allows teachers to focus on art, sensory activities, and fine motor development. Children are also encouraged to build independence and begin developing toilet-readiness skills.

Pre-School 2 (Ages 3-4) expands on these foundational skills through small-group learning, story time, language arts, science, math, and creative art activities. Children enjoy daily outdoor play on our turf playground and develop gross motor skills through active exploration. They are also encouraged to strengthen their "I can do it" attitude by practicing important independent skills, such as cleaning up after meals and managing their own nap-time routines.

Infant Care Designed Around Your Baby's Needs

At The Wonder Years Academy, our infant room serves as a true home away from home for children ages 6 weeks to 15 months. Every day begins in a calm, loving, and welcoming environment where babies receive individualized attention from caring professionals who understand the importance of these early developmental stages.

Our infant program is thoughtfully designed to support your child's growth, comfort, and routine through:

  • Designated primary caregiver providing consistent, personalized daily care
  • Creative Curriculum® infant program supporting early development
  • Regular developmental assessments and parent updates
  • Daily tummy time and guided play that support developmental milestones
  • Personalized feeding schedules tailored to your child's routine
  • Individual cribs with Kolcraft Pure Sleep Therapeutic Crib Mattresses
  • Infant First Aid and CPR-certified caregivers
  • Bright, naturally lit classroom with dedicated infant spaces
  • Private infant kitchenette for organized mealtimes
  • Real-time updates through the ProCare app on naps, meals, activities, and diaper changes
  • WatchMeGrow camera access for anytime check-ins
  • Clean, organized, self-contained environment designed for infants

To help families transition comfortably into child care, we also offer a unique enrollment transition program. We understand how emotional those first drop-offs can be, which is why we provide additional support to help both parents and babies adjust confidently to their new routine. Families consistently share positive feedback about this personalized approach, helping create a smooth and reassuring start to their child's care experience.

What to Bring for Your Infant

To help your child settle comfortably into our infant program, we ask families to provide a few essential items. Please ensure all belongings are clearly labeled with your child's name.

Items needed to get started include:

  • Five sets of seasonally appropriate clothing changes
  • Two standard-size crib sheets
  • Bibs for feeding and teething
  • Diapers, wipes, and ointments
  • Labeled bottles, bottle tops, milk, and baby food
  • Your child's current daily schedule, including nap times

Keeping these items updated as your baby grows helps us provide consistent, personalized care that supports your child's comfort, routine, and development throughout the day.
